The National Secretariat serves as the administrative and operational headquarters of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA). It coordinates the Association’s programmes, implements strategic initiatives, manages national affairs, and serves as the primary point of contact for members, partners, stakeholders, and the public.
From the Secretariat, the GJA provides leadership in promoting ethical journalism, defending press freedom, coordinating professional development programmes, and advancing the interests of journalists across Ghana.

The Ghana Journalists Association operates through a network of regional branches, ensuring that journalists throughout the country have access to professional support, training opportunities, advocacy, and representation.
Each regional branch is led by elected executives who work closely with the National Secretariat to implement the Association’s programmes while addressing the unique needs of journalists within their respective regions.
Through these regional offices, the GJA strengthens local journalism, promotes ethical reporting, and creates opportunities for collaboration among media professionals across Ghana.
The Ghana Journalists Association believes that collaboration is essential to advancing journalism and media development. We work with local, regional, and international partners to strengthen press freedom, promote ethical journalism, enhance professional capacity, and support innovation across the media industry.
